Model Trains & Railroads Tips

Model trains tips, tricks and secrets

I had questions about where to setup a model railroad. I am concerned about temperature and humidity and other damage effects. Did know if it’s something I should be super concerned with or just a little concerned because I could set it up in a finished basement with little room or in a barn/shed with lots room.

If it were me I would check the humidity in each place. It could affect the metals in the set up and the train and cause rust. Consider how many people would try to get in to see and touch it. You don’t want that and would have to ask the people not to touch it and that may make them angry with you. Have enough room in the space your going to put it so you can reach the middle of the display without touching anything on it and ruining the set up and having to redo it.
